Synopsis: This is the true story of Coach Mike Jarvis, one of the finest coaches in basketball, who, against all odds, led the Cambridge Rindge & Latin Warriors to three consecutive Massachusetts state high school championships with an unequaled record of 77-1 and Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing, Coach Jarvis' star center. Cambridge Latin was considered to be among the best teams in the United States during Mike's leadership, even though they played under an unsubstantiated legal cloud that nearly disqualified them from the final game of the state championship. The action takes place both on the Court and in Court as the young Cambridge Rindge & Latin Warriors fight the opposing team as well as the jealousies and hatred of a group dead set against their winning another Championship.
Mike's dream of carrying his team to several championships came with numerous obstacles. In many ways, his life path made him an unlikely hero. Not only was he a young black man growing up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, but he also struggled with his own family history and level of confidence. Mike's professional and personal journey helped him develop his team at Cambridge Latin. Despite job changes and life experiences, including becoming a father, Mike continued to work toward his goals every day. He found through his commitment to his faith, his profession, his team and school, and his love for his wife and family, that anything was possible.
Mike was determined to become a great coach, leader, teacher, and successful role model in the world of basketball. His tireless efforts in the achievement of those goals forever changed his life and the lives of those around him.
